Shabla – Cape Shabla; Shabla Lake, Ezerishko Lake; Shabla Salt Lake (Tuzla)

Shabla is a small town, which has preserved its low houses in pretty courtyards and all the tranquility of a remote place. Tourists, who come here appreciate the silence, the unpretentious restaurants, and the hospitable people of the town.

Near the town, on Cape Shabla, is the oldest active lighthouse on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. Further down is the picturesque fishermen's village of Karia, where you can eat fresh, deliciously prepared fish.

The town itself has no beach – the long sandy beaches with fine sand, surrounded by poplars and low bushes can be reached in a few minutes by car. Along the way, you will see exits to the the Shabla Lake and the Shabla Tuzla. Visit them too. The whole place is a protected area. There are many rare bird species here. In the lake - which connects the lakes of Shabla and Ezerets village through an artificial channel - live protected species of fish. It is also the home of many diverse plant species. The Tuzla is very popular in summer, when the semi-salty waters of the lake dry up the healing mud of the lake bottom surfaces.
